Project Overview
ICARDA Enhancing pulses production for nutritional security and strengthening pulse-based sustainable and improved agriculture production system in Odisha.
The project intends to improve the pulses scenario in the state (low state productivity of 509 kg/ha compared to national average yield of 764 kg/ha; inadequate pulses production in Odisha (total production 1.06 million tons, deficit of 0.22 million tons); low per capita pulses consumption leading to protein/vitamine mineral malnutrition, mostly in women, children and girls).
